Amy Bronson

College of Social and Applied Human Sciences

Candidate statement:

Having closely followed the politics of our campus since my first year, I am informed and ready to become increasingly involved in the issues that face us as University of Guelph students. In my first year, I moved from Southern Alberta to Guelph, and last winter, I was involved in the University’s Semester Abroad program to India. I feel that these experiences bring me to this campaign with an understanding of political diversity that will be useful for evaluating campus issues passionately but with an open mind. My academic interests are interdisciplinary.

I am currently in my third year of an International Development major (emphasis in Economics and Business), and pursue some women’s studies and marketing studies. I have great interest in understanding human rights and issues of oppression socially and economically in a local, national and global context. Community involvement and volunteering in both my hometown and Guelph are important to me.

If you, as a member of our CSAHS College, elect me as your CSA board of directors representative, I will act as a fair and solid voice on campus issues that affect you. I will search out the thoughts and opinions of students in the decision making process. Seeking justice and understanding, I will work to stay informed about our education and campus life to represent our college as a proud University of Guelph student.
