Trick-or-eat hits it big again!

Thursday, November 1, 2007

Last night was the annual Trick-or-eat put on by Meal Exchange nation wide. Last night in the UC courtyard over 1300 volunteers clad in every costume imaginable received their marching orders and split up Guelph. Once the teams had been assigned their slice of the pie they headed out to cars and buses.

The volunteers came out in greater numbers than last year and even the Alastair Summerlee attended the kick off, dressed as Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko. As of the morning after, the tally of food collected is 35,258 pounds of food going to local food banks. According to Jessica Pudwell, Guelph Meal Exchange Education & Promotion Coordinator, there is still more food expected to trickle in over the next week. Guelph once again shattered its record from last year by 5000 pounds.
