The Frozen Speed (by contributor Jacqueline Brioux from our photo gallery!)
With their busy lives these days, the typical University student has forgotten the simple joys of taking a break and spending some time outside. I was recently walking in the Arboretum and was astonished at how few individuals I
encountered on my journey.
Living in residence, I see first hand how most students prefer to stay indoors on gorgeous days, playing on their computers or hanging out. Now I realize that we don’t always have time to let everything drop and go for a walk, but this simple act does wonders, at least for myself. It’s a great way to get exercise (an act our generation will often neglect), regain focus and just get a better perspective on everything.
Nature is filled with hidden wonders that are just waiting to be discovered. So for all of you with writer’s block, who are brain dead from hours of studying or who are just going crazy from being indoors, get up, put on some good walking shoes and see what nature has to offer.
You might be amazed at how beautiful our world is when to stop and take the time to look.
