Outraged Student!

I've used the tutor connection service in prior years. It helped me through first year chemistry. I'm aware we have other resources, such as SLGs, but sometimes having to sit through a 3 hours session when all you have is one question is annoying! In SLGs they want you to participate like you're in a kindergarten class. I'm sure this is very helpful to some, but I need something more specific. There's no substitute for a one-on-one tutoring session.

I'm sure there are other students out there missing the tutor connection. Let's try to bring it back!!

have you tried reading the textbook?

People have different learning styles. I know personally, sometimes no matter how many times I read a part of a textbook over, I still can not comprehend the concept. Having a tutor makes a world of a difference.

Thank you, Ronit! That's exactly the problem. The textbooks are sometimes no help at all! Having someone who knows what they're doing tell you one simple thing could make everything come together.

'Max payne', what a naive thing to say.

I know what you mean...as soon as you past first year your left stranded because most of the "free" help on campus is available for first years.

Honesty try talking to your prof or if you have a willing to help TA.

oh, jess! be nice. no where in the article did you mention reading the textbook. are you seriously telling me you lack the wherewithal to approach your TA two minutes before the start of the SLG to get your dire question answered or seek out a tutor? perhaps you have no other friends in your courses who would be willing to study with you, is that it? or was this just some fluffy, preliminary article you decided to write for your first time on thecannon.ca? in any case, how very weak. i should be calling you the naive one.

    p.s. go see my movie!
