Entitled "Microfinancing in Afghanistan: A Macro-Impact", the presentation will be delivered by Jared Penner, project leader and consultant for the Menonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA).
MEDA is an organization dedicated to alleviating poverty worldwide through training, loans, mentorship, and personal investments that all contribute to localized sustainable self-sufficiency and meaningful infrastructure development. Jared has experience working with various forms of microfinance operators in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. He successfully managed MEDA's HIV/AIDS and Microfinance Project in Mozambique and regularly facilitated training workshops and provided technical assistance to Mozambican MFIs. He has vast experience in research methods, project management, integrated services in microfinance and microenterprise development for youth. His talk his centered around microfinance projects currently taking place in Afghanistan.
