13th Annual Art on the Street
Saturday, July 11, 2015
Established artists will line the street and emerging artists will fill the RBC lot. Take in the visual delights of paintings, ceramics, jewellery, photography, fabrics and metalwork. All artists are on site, allowing the visitor to engage and ask questions about their work.
Travelling troubadours will roam Quebec Street bringing a festival atmosphere to the event. From traditional entertainment by Coro Cantitalia, to sweet ukulele from Cynthia Kinunnen, performers will take their music to the streets and interact with visitors and artists along the way.
Bring the kids and get messy at the Children’s Arts Festival in St George’s Square. The Play with Clay craft bus will be on site, as will the Guelph Public Library, and the Guelph School of Art, each offering an interactive artistic activity for your family to enjoy. Also the Suzuki String School of Guelph will let you have a go on their violins at their instrument petting zoo.
Take a break in the RBC parking lot. A selection of food from Downtown’s favourite eateries will be available. Eat a sandwich from West End Bakery, pasta from Red Brick Café, on-the-go salad from Killer Goremet and spring rolls from Rawlicious whilst relaxing in the shade on one of our colourful sun loungers. The City of Guelph Water Truck will be on site so don’t forget your refillable bottles.
Art on the Street is a free event which welcomes art lovers of all ages, and is co-hosted by the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) and Guelph Arts Council (GAC).
