With papers going bankrupt and broadcasters cutting staff, there's a lot of uncertainty about the future of news media. Is print a thing of the past? Do bloggers improve or undermine the quality of reporting? What skills will aspiring student journalists need to stay keep up in this fast-paced world? If you're interested in getting involved in journalism, join us for a panel discussion featuring voices from academia, the news room and the blogosphere. Brought to you by The Ontarion Student Newspaper and thecannon.ca
Confirmed panelists include:
Rob Fishbook: President of Canadian University Press, the umbrella organization representing more than 80 campus newspapers and publications.
Phil Andrews: Managing Editor of the Guelph Mercury, the city's daily newspaper.
Adam A. Donaldson: Former Editor-in-Chief of The Ontarion Student Newspaper, now a blogger and freelance writer.
Geoffrey Stevens: Former Managing Editor of The Globe and Mail and Maclean's Magazine, now a professor of political science at Wilfrid Laurier University.
