OUTline Phone Volunteer Training: Summer 2010

What
Phone Line Volunteers are the core spirit of OUTline. These volunteers identify within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, two-spirit community and are interested in developing skills transferable to many professional work environments while supporting others on their coming-out journey.
Some responsibilities of phone line volunteers are:
1) Actively listening to individuals that call the support phone line
2) Answering questions sent via e-mail
3) Updating resources and referral services
Phone line volunteers are asked to commit to approximately 14 hours per month (four 3-hour shifts plus one 2-hour Volunteer meeting) for a minimum of two academic semesters. -
Where
All training sessions take place in an undisclosed location on the University of Guelph campus.
Location will be disclosed after the prospective volunteer has completed an application form and intake interview. -
When
Tuesdays June 15, 22, 29 & Wednesdays June 16, 23, 30 from 6-9pm & Saturday June 19 from 10am-4:30pm.

There is no charge for Training.
