'Environmental Future' Panel

  • What

    The University community and public are invited to attend "Our Environmental Future," which will feature a free evening of presentations by experts on environment-related issues.

    -Robert Rapier, a world expert on peak oil, will speak on "Peak Oil - What? When?"
    -Prof. Peter Victor, York University, will give a talk on "Managing Without Growth - Yes We Can."
    -Jennifer Sumner with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto will talk on "Effects of Growth on a Community."
    -Mike Nickerson, executive director of The Sustainability Project, will speak on "Sustainability- How Can We Achieve it?"
    -U of G's Prof. Evan Fraser will discuss his latest book Empires of Food: Feast, Famine and the Rise and Fall of Civilization.

    The series of lectures will be followed by a panel discussion where audience members will have the opportunity to ask the experts questions.
