Facilitator: Shireen Noble
How do we learn about how rape exists in the media? What do they tell us about the survivor? The circumstances? The perpetrator? And what happens when a lived experience of a sexual assault falls outside of that definition? And how does that change based on age? Race? Relationship to the perpetrator? Disability? And how are these beliefs hurting women?
If you are interested in getting involved in a movement to transform current “rape scripts” , especially on our campus, this workshop is one that should not be missed.
The ReThink campaign was created to address these issues as they occur on our campus at the University of Guelph. The reality is that injustice, social inequality, violence, and bullying happen everywhere in the world and Guelph is not immune. Over the years, Guelph has become more and more diverse, and it is our responsibility to make sure that we are respectful of the beliefs, cultures, and experiences of all of our fellow students, peers, and workers.
