    On The Road is a repertoire show from Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers. Performance is approximately 45 minutes in length including a class demonstration.

    Canada’s oldest modern dance company returns to the national touring scene by spending part of it's 45th season On The Road. This is WCD's return to the national scene with performance dates in Toronto, Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and further dates in Thompson (MB) and Vancouver (BC).

    The On The Road performance for the University of Guelph highlights the versatility and strength of WCD's company dancers in 2 works from WCD’s current Artistic Director, Brent Lott. A reworked excerpt from Lott's STRUCK (entitled BOX STRUCK) - 'a piece of shimmering beauty’ (Globe & Mail) and as well as a new work drawn from Egyptian mythology and the lifecycle of the Scarab Beetle entitled Between the Sycamore (which will premiere as a full-length work in May of 2010). The performances are followed by a dance class demonstrations and talk back with he choreographer and dancers.

    The full length version of On The Road features a total of 6 works from choreographers Rachel Browne C.M., Brent Lott, and Lesandra Dodson and is presented by the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festivals' Off-Site Series, November 17th at 7pm at the Alma Gallery.
