Buxton was the last surviving Black Settlement in Canada, the last stop for fleeing black slaves on the Undergroud Railroad. The site and historic museum is home to the Elgin Settlement, which sheds light on the untold stories of freed slaves and provides a rich history on Afro-Canadians.
